well if you're really really extremely bored you might think hmm let me go do something so you go outside and take a walk where you get hit by a brick that's falling from the sky. and die.

Well, boredom and depression are the same thing basically, or closely allied enough anyway. Depression has all kinds of negative effects on the body, in extreme cases its almost as if the body shuts down, and body functions are affected. It's not just being "bummed out", there is something wrong with the brain ,and the brain runs the body, so if the brain is not working correctly, the body follows suit. Honestly, I don't know if anyone has ever really died of depression(not counting suicide), but I've read of people becoming incapacitated and bedridden(they couldnt control their bodily funtions-if you know what I mean). So maybe this is where the term "Died of boredom" means. Maybe its more symbolic; when your bored your'e doing nothing, nothing is happening, like if you were dead.

Boredom is what you feel when you aren't doing what you should be doing with your life. When you're doing what you should, you feel alive, free, and good. Then you can't feel bored!

When you're bored, you do things to ease your boredom: watch TV, play games, eat, smoke, and so on. Not many of us exercise.

Boredom can kill you, and it kills people already. But it can take a long time. It shows up as obesity, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and even cancer.

It can be quick, too, if the bored person takes his own life because he doesn't know what he should be doing instead of being bored.

it kills your spirit if there is no external input. unless you learn to meditate and receive information from higher energy...if you can't learn to be still and listen to the universe you will always look for external stimulation...
without it you will go insane...like a person in solitary confinement.
the word "die" means more than just physical death.
