I love this program. You can get a free demo (and the full version is like $30). It's easy to use and has built in transitions (though they can cause large files.

Try the link below for a free animated gif program. An animated gif (Graphic Interchange File) is a series of pictures linked together in one file that steps through the files a few times a second. Depending on the properties of the file it can one picture or 50. It can show a mini video or a series of different photos. Have fun, Good luck!

For 2D effects, Macromedia Flash would be the best solution... easy to learn... nice tutorial included... simply export to gif...

Then if you really want some good 3D effects I would advise 3DMax which is much much more difficult to learn... but you can do anything with it... same thing as flash, simply export to gif...

Select all the images you want to use then open them in photoshop. Edit them if you need to then jump to ImageReady and create your animated gif.

Macromedia Flash = advanced users. Photoshop = basic 1 pic to another.

you create your graphic and convert them to keyframes
then you save them in gif format

use certain programs lyk photoshop, fireworks or flash. u can visit http://adobe.com and try the programs for several days.
