Take a load of them, make some catalytic convert manufacturer happy in anticipating high profits.
Catalytic converters are expensive because they're strictly backed by law that ALL operational vehicles in the US MUST have one.

You can usually sell used converters for maybe $10-20 a piece to someone who melts it down for the small amount of precious metal in it.

Yah you have to extract and refine the platinum from the converter. Platinum is about $1100 - $1200/oz.
Palladium is a sister to platinum and I heard that automakers are to start using it so it's value may go up IDK.
