so there's a certain type of character who will always be an ageless sex symbol.?

Like Marylin Monroe, James Dean, JKF,Jim Morrison, River Phoenix, Princess Dianna, Jayne Mansfield,Sal Mineo...who died far too early but will always live on in our memories as young, attractive,sex symbols---icons of their(and our)time...Do you have any comments on this...ie would you really want to see Marylin Monroe at 87 yrs old...could she have maintained the same immortality that she still has..the mystic?? Or do you think that the timing of their deaths lead to their immortal nature?..Saying this I do realize that many ie Elizabeth Taylor have made the transition..but that is not quite what I'm asking here.

I completely understand what you are asking - we will always remember these people as young and good looking -but even as celebrities get older many people "immortalize" their younger image - take Elvis Prestley for example - if you ask people to imagine Elvis they imagine the attactive thin Elvis, not the Peanut Butter and Banana eating slob he was before he died - I even think Elizabeth Taylor will be remembered as a beautiful young cleopatra - not what she is today. The time of death may play a part for some - but I think how we want to remember them plays a larger part.

Sexuality comes from within and is not affected by age, a 60 year old can ooze sexuality just as a 20 year old can.Look at Sophia Loren or Clint Eastwood, they've got it and age makes no difference.

i think the ones that died early will remain ageless sex symbols because no one thinks of them as old; they are immortilised in time as being young, sexy, etc.

the older ones that are still alive do not have the same sex symbol impact as the dead ones
