"The Monster at the End of the Book" featuring furry loveable ol' Grover. A masterpiece in its own right.

Like the C.S. Lewis I "was the product of long dusty corridors and attics", I spent most of my childhood reading to escape what was happening around me.
I read and re-read the Narnia Series (C.S. Lewis), loved all the E.Nesbit books especially the Railway Children. Was obsessed with Enid Blyton's Famous Five books and her Malory Towers school series.
I collected all Elinor M Brent-Dyer's Chalet school books and used to plan to run away to Austria to find Jo Bettany and her sister Madge.
I adored "The Dark is Rising" trilogy (Susan Cooper), Milly Molly Mandy and my cousins in Canada used to send me Bobsey Twins and Hardy Boys books.
I never stopped reading

The Three Investigators were a great series that a few different authors took on. A nice light read.
These days reading with my eight year old I'm thoroughly enjoying the Magic Tree House series. Interesting journeys into time's past for a brother and sister.

My favorite books were the "Little House on the Prairie" books. I learned to read when I was 3 years old, so I alsways read more "grown up" books. I loved to put myself in Laura's shoes because I could be mischievious and not have to suffer the consequences. Plus I was fascinated with what life was like back in then.

Some of my favorite children's books are by Beverly Cleary, Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling. I am a fourth grade teacher and now spend my time rereading my favorites to refresh my memory. I loved the BFG by Roald Dahl. I also think very highly of the imagingation and literary writing of J.K. Rowling in the Harry Potter books. I have only found one gramatical error in all her books thus far which is very rare in deed.
