SKYPE is software for transmitting voice over internet. (voip). By using this software you can voice chat with your friends and family over the internet. It can be used in 2 ways
1. PC to PC -- here both the parties download and install the skype software on their respective PCs and create a username individually and then can chat on the pc using a microphone and headphone. This is the FREE mode
2. PC to Phone -- This is the PAID mode. here you buy the talk time by paying to skype and then you can call any phone number(mobile + landline) in the world from you PC.
The voice quality is very crisp. No sound delay and there are other lots of features like amswering machine etc. to make it very user friendly.

Skype is like a messenger ,through this u canchat & talk with your friend with headphone before this u have to make a account in skype and your friend too . You can make a call to other's phone like landline,mobile but for this you have to pay amount but it's cost u cheap than S.T.D & I.S.D after that u can call any phone through skype .

Skype is a VoIP service (Voice Over IP) where you can make calls over the internet. They can be PC-to-PC (free), PC-to-Phone (costs 2 cents/min) or Phone-to-PC (don't know). Get it at Skype.com.
And, P.S., I think PC-to-Phone calls are free and unlimited for the rest of this year, so knock yourself out.
