Yep, lots of people here do, and have done for decades. There are many US acts who are very popular in the UK like Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dog, TLC and so on. There are also some UK rap and R&B artists who have done well internationally. Some cable channels are dedicated to only R&B music.
Of course the UK's favourite rap song is Baby Got Back by SIrMixalot as it is the best song ever... or perhaps not!

They've been doing that for a while. Heck, they even make it. The earliest recorded rap by a British artist was (believe it or not) "The Magnificent Seven" by The Clash. After that, you get more hip-hop stuff like the Coldcut remix of Eric B. and Rakim's "Paid in Full," and also the early KLF albums.

Ok since when has lady sovereign been a hip hop or rap artist? Coming to think about it, when has she ever been an artist at all? It takes more than yelling "It's the SOV" to enable you to be labelled with talent.

Her lyrics are prob the worst I have ever heard. Its seems like she dissed Jentina to get ahead. Its only a matter of time before someone does the same.

I love real hiphop - jayz, nas, 2pac, biggie, kottonmouth kings, de la soul, jedi mind tricks, jurassic 5, snoop, busta, ice cube, dre, eminem, missy, obie trice and the whole G Unit fam!

Compare their stuff to sov's. There is no comparison at all

Its not even like I'm hating because in my opinion the person u are hating has to be worth hating first hahahaa

SOV will fizzle out, mark my words

The streets are good however, I like them, prob cause Mike Skinner reps my city lol

Why does anyone listen to rap or hip-hop (or other styles of music) ? The music speaks to them & transcends countries' borders, cultures and languages. Whether it be the words and/or the music, they connect personally to this music and becomes a part of their lives.

British people listen to ALL sorts of music.
It is really just a matter of personal taste & note a national decision. We don't get up in the morning & all call each other to find out what we want to listen to each day you know.

Three British rappers I really like are The Streets, Lady Sovereign and Dizzee Rascal. I've seen the first two live, awesome performers, and Dizzee's stuff is just fun.

I like Lady Sovereign, She's a rapper and she puts on a londoner chav accent for it. It's pretty good.

Have you heard anything from Goldie lookin chain? They're a Welsh group of self proclaimed chavs (It's for show though) who are hilarious. I particularly like "half man half machine". That one's about a guy who goes nuts and think's he's a robot, (probably thanks to soap bars, another song) so he wears a tinfoil covered box and tinfoil around his head. He talks like a robot and... well you'll have to listen to the track for the rest.

Btw, they drive a Chavalier, A cavalier that has been painted in burberry! Hilarious!
