Professional Color Consulting and interior space artist is my background and current profession (and girlfriend 4 months pregnant)
Any Color that makes you relax when you see it.
No tension colors! NO: bright pink, red, blue, yellows.
Think about where you see a color and how it's used: red is for fast cars and master bedrooms (can you see the "stimulating" connection in red)
Sage green=grass, ocean, nature
lavender=flowers, setting sun sky color
Any earth tones.
good luck and bless your baby!

I painted my daughters room a soft pale green color. Her room has pink curtains and pink bedding which looks nice together. Different colors affect peoples moods even babies. I was always told never to paint a babys room yellow it makes then cry more for some reason. Pale green has a calming effect on people. I love her room it just feels so relaxing.

We did my sons room in jungle theme, which worked perfect with tans and browns and greens, it would even look nice for a littl girl. You could even use a lavender or red with some little lady bugs. You could even do a yellow or a green so if you happen to have a boy he would be happy too.

We did our nursery in yellow with winnie the pooh because we didn't know what the sex was yet. Now she is 3 and we just did her room in a light purple and Dora. Both colors are very pretty.

Our son was going to share a nursury with his female cousin, so before they were born, we painted a bright turquoise color.
Another nice one would be a sage green, or a light orangey-tan (for lack of a real color name).

what about an off shade of white as the main paint color and then use masking tape (after 2 days of paint drying) and use a clear glaze with a roller. you can do wide stripes or narrow. this has a BEAUTIFUL effect! you could use any color you want... but it looks SO classy with an off white shade!

depends on what you're having
pastels are always nice
mint green
lavender
baby blue
pastel yellow
go to Lowe's, home depot, or walmart and look at the paint swatches. collect as many as you want and take them home and tack them up on the nursery walls. look at them and mark the ones that meet your eye the most then sit down with your hunny and narrow it down to a pick.
