There is always that really good movie that you love but know there probably isn't going to be a sequel but you wish there was! Mine is Top Gun!

Great question! Lots of unnecessary remakes of movies that were great to start with (so why remake them?), and sequels that don't live up to the original and should never have happened. There are other film writers who didn't know when to stop, as with Police Academy and Rocky.......!
But there are definitely a few movies that deserve a good sequel; my choice would be Wild Wild West 2. Yeah!

well here's some FYI
Back in the 80's they talked of a TOP GUN 2 but i think "Firebirds" replaced it.
Back to the Future was gonna have a 4&5 but two things have happened that caused that (so far) not to happen: in 1995 (or 4) they were working on the idea for a part 4 and then some loon goes into what is now the downtown part of Universal Studios and is also the downtown set of BTTF and set fire to it.
By the time the set was rebuilt they had all ready canceled the plan.
In 1997 they started considering Part 4 and 5
But when Fox retired due to his ilness in 98 that was shelved.
There has been rumors floating around hollywood and the web, that they are reconsidering it agian, but either with a new story line (less action) so Fox can be in it, or him with only a cameo and someone like Ben Afleck for the new main role.
No 100% confirmation on that though.

I asked the company who made BTTF about if there was any work on a new sequel and they said about the 1994-1995 deal
I was out in Los Angelos and on tour on US and asked a technician on a BTTF making tour, and he said about the 1997-1998 part.
As for my idea for a sequel....
TRON... The guy who first made tron still works for Disney and would like to make a remake and a sequel. there is a game TRON 2.0 based on the script for the movie, but nothing so far has been confirmed if its being made yet. I know in 2002 when the 20th Aniver came out it had storyboards for it.
Independence Day 2,,,, i'm surprised they havent done yet the planned seqel for it.
True Lies 2... I gues their waiting for Arnold to leave office because this has been in the works at least as far back as the late 90's.
Total Recall 2... a idea Arnold put on a list he released a few years ago of things he wants to do sometime
Terminator 4.... while i dont see what people hated about 3, they always had planned to finish the story telling the war after the nuclear attack.
I cant wait to see Rocky 6 (ROCKY BALBOA) the preview looks good. comes out at christmas

I never think of what movie should have a sequel until someone actually makes one. Then I decided if it was a good move or not.
