1. Attend all of your classes. There will be things you might miss that wont be on the syllabus.

2. Don't fall behind. This may be the worst offense of all. It's too blasted difficult to play catch up. Profs expect the work and no excuses. Don't look for pity. You're paying for college. Get your money's worth.

3. There will lots and lots of outside reading to do. Get it done. Allow enough time to do research if a project demands it. There is plenty of time to do the reading, but not if you're out partying, goofing around, etc. There will a lot of distractions. Those people who succumb will be on probation, then suspension. Look at the ratio of entering freshman to the upperclassmen. There are just going to be people who thought they were college material, but just weren't.

4. This will be the chance of a lifetime. Make the most of it. Work first, play later, and you will have one of the best experiences ever.

Most important thing in college is to learn to think independently, learn to explore and try out new things. It will be the most fun place you will ever encounter without having to take responsibility for your actions. Hence the phrase " give it the college try". But you must also remember that you are there to learn. Education is the best thing you can invest on. Life is hard without a degree. In regards to homework. A general rule, for every hour you spend in class, you should put two hours of homework for that class. Also, remember to make friends, and lots of them. They will keep you focus and also show you some easy way to get by in college. Such as filing for financial aid, college part time job, and the latest hang out. Good Luck and remember to have fun.

1 Don't drink too much. Most guys will want to score. And if you drink too much you will not study the next day.
2 Start a paper sooner rather than later.
3 Homework can be a lot of time or not depending on the subject.
4 Every day there are hundreds of reasons to put off studying.

Most professors will tell you they expect homework to take 3 hours for every hour of class. Usually, I didn't spend that much time...but if you plan on a couple of hours, you'll be close. Some classes (studio art, science labs) take more time.

Start papers and major projects early. Get your work in on time. Take classes you're interested in and everything will come more easily!

It's all about time management...if u get that under control it's not that hard.

Don't party the night before a test...from experience not a good idea.

Also u make up ur own schedule, so depending on it, if u dont load up on classes, hw wont take that long, it also depends on the prof.
