I love Zeppelin, don't get me wrong, but it seems like the song names have nothing to do with the songs... which is great... they most likely have some deeper meaning to the artist, however i wonder if im missing something. Specifically 'Black Dog' and 'D'yer Mak'er'. Both great songs... but whats up with the names?

"Black Dog" was just that....a black dog roaming around Headley Grange while they recorded Zeppelin IV. "D'yer Mak'er" (I read this years ago) is "Did you make (shag, screw, whatever) her" said by someone with a "Black Country" accent.

hello,i've been a Led Zep follower all my life and i know what you're saying.Zep was really into writers like Tolkien[i.e.Lord of the Rings]and this influenced them a lot,but they still made some of THE best rock of all time...what's better than"Stairway to Heaven"...the closest classic to this would have to be "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Aerosmith...long live Rockand Roll

Don't get me wrong, my family and I worship Zeppelin, but back then, drugs weren't unheard of...so they were probably stoned or some stupid sh-t like that.
