I think it depends on the girl and what is too mature for them alot of the magazines talk sexual soo its important to consider what they already know and what they dont, I think it can make you mature to soon in certain ways, but I think as far as some of the storys and life lesson it could be great it really depends on the girl, just becareful what you put into you mind, and I hope that it helps you more with confidents, I think the magazines are becoming more diverse and that should help in relating to ppl, but if you feel it is change you in any negative way then stop reading it plz

I'd like to give an answer, but I have never read Cosmo girls, but I can imagine what the magazine is about.

I'd say it might appropriate for a 15-16 year-old girl , but definitely not for a 12-year-old. Nothing is worse than when a girl tries to grow up too fast.

I think, save your money. The articles are a bit brusque for 12 year olds.Maybe the fashion, ads, etc parts are fine to browse thru, but do not beleive every poll, etc they lead you to believe. When you try to lead your life as if it is the way in a magazine poll,well..how shallow and misleading would that be .Live your life..not the marketing folks lives depicted in these kinds of magazines.

Yeah because they have people like Ashley Tisdale on there and she won't give interviews to bad magazines.

Sure, if you want her to grow up obsessed with looks, boys and makeup. Perhaps if you want her to constantly compare herself to impossibly thin, airbrushed models and maybe develop an eating disorder.

If not, get her something like National Geographic.

I'd suggest New Moon. Much more appropriate and teaches you about inner beauty.

i hate to say it but, personally i think it is more for teenagers! but, i guess it's fine i read it when i was 12 but, when i have children they won't be reading it because it has some things about sex and rape and other things in that area/things that aren't really bad but, aren't appropriate either.

I think so I bought an issue my mom saw it and she ordered me a year of it. It depends on what your mom and dad think though.
