Why is he so obsessed with killing her?

actually i still don't know the reason why. its a bit confusing. you need to watch the movie, its sequels & the comic series.
Somewhere along the line there was no continuity of the storyline. The sequels continue to develop the character of Michael Myers & the theme of Samhain. As there were different writers & directors involved,the series is plauged with continuity issues.
The comic series tried to create continuity between The curse of michael myers & H20: 20 years later. But it also causes the plot of Halloween: Ressurection to be impossible.
But from what i know, it's cause Michael Myers was part of a cursed Druid bloodline where the women of the Myers bloodline were cursed with visions & occassionally with the ability to read minds. And the first-born male of each generation carried the seed of Samhain's evil.
There is also links to Myers being possessed with the curse of thorn which basically appears when there is a certain constellation appearing.
But basically he wants to kill her cos she is his younger sister & cos he already killed his older sister.

If you saw the original Halloween, it told you about how Michael Myers killed his entire family. She was his sister and she was the only one he didn't kill, so when he got out of the asilum, he was obsessed with finishing what he started.

Laurie is his younger sister, whom his parents gave up for adoption in order to protect her from Michael. In the upcoming Halloween 9 movie that Rob Zombie will be directing, he is going to explain why Michael was full of rage and evil at an early age.

Watch the last movie and i belief they point out that she is the only one who can kill him. So, if he kills her first then he can live forever.

They were brother and sister. He wanted her but could not have her because she was his sister.
It's like me. There is this lady I like but I can't have because she is married. Instead of trying to kill her I just ignore her and act like she doesn't exist even though she is a very nice lady who I like very much.
The Wang will make you do strange things.

It was the plot and there was a curse against his family. watch all of them and you will get it.
