A firm hand shake is key. Make a lot of eye contact. Nod a lot. When you sit down, sit with your feet flat on the floor and your hands folded in your lap. Your body language says a lot. Ask questions. Know a lot about the company you are interviewing with. Check out following link for lots of tips and tricks. Good luck!

first impression is the initiating thing that you should think of when going to an interview. Your clothes is one of the first impressions. Wearing a buisness suit always gets them regardless of what the job is, this is telling them that you are about buisness and your not afraid to show it. introducing your self with a handshake and a nice warm greeting of "how are u today?" would be pleasing. Anwering their questions stongly and firmly. try to sound a bit sophisticated. Always smile and don't mention any bad habits or show any bad persona. Leaving with a handshake and a smile. After the interview call everyday sounding concerned about them considering you. Try to talk to the same person that gave u the interview to have it interlocked definitly in at least one of the managers head that you really want to work. If you can afford it going to the job personally to check would be better than calling unless they say u can't come up there. Good luck and i wish u well with your family and if you don't get this one then i'm sure you'll find another one!

When you are going to an interview you have to be confident about your abilities. You are trying to sell yourself to a new employer.

Just remember that they will always ask you to tell them about you background and about yourself.

Depending on what kind of job you are looking for they will ask a situational question that may apply to the industry you are working in. I suggest that you research whatever industry you are interested in so you have a better feel for the job.

Most of the time the employer is not looking for the best answer or a correct answer, they want to see how you answer the question. They want someone that is confident or creative with their answers. Try practicing in front of someone or a mirror, so you won't seem so nervous during the interview. You definitely want to research questions online. You'd be surprised to see how many question are online that recruiters or potential employers will ask.

Keep your answers as concise as possible. The more you talk the more ammunition you give them to throw at you.

At the end they will ask if you have any questions. Please be prepared. You can ask about training, or work environment. Study the company and ask related questions. Try to get them to talk as much as possible. You'll find that they like to talk about themselves and their company.

Do some research first. Learn as much as you can about the co. and mention what you know during the interview. They will be impressed that you are so well informed.

Dress for success. Wear a business suit in a dark or neutral color. You can wear a bright scarf or pretty pin to liven it up. Do your hair in a conservative style and tone down the make-up. Wear plain closed toe pumps that are polished and carry a nice bag or briefcase.

Shake hands when you come in and again when you leave. Thank them for the interview and tell them that you are looking forward to working there. The next day mail a hand written note to the person who interviewed you. Thank him or her again and repeat that you would like to be chosen for the position. Good luck. I hope you get it.

There are any number of excellent books available at the library, and for that matter, tips on line. One thing I would suggest (as a person who started an employment agency), is to research the company prior to the interview. And, please remember to send a 'thank you' note to the interviewer(s) a day after the interview. Good luck...dress the part and show them what you can do for them.

Confidence..... Go to some job interviews that you don't want the job. Just for practice. Then go to as many as you can. Practice makes perfect.

get a good sleep
dress appropriately
be gracious
thank people for their time and kindness
don't let any personal issues slip in the interview (you don't want to be a person with "issues")
ask people to talk about themselves
learn the requirements for the job
be prepared to talk about how you meet them, or your plan to meet them
learn about the company
be curious - ask who is their competition, for example
bring your resume with you
bring a list of people who could be called for references with you
