Okay, so basically here's the situtation.
We have to move in a few weeks to an apartment that doesn't allow pets, and I have 2 cats and 2 little gerbils. I don't want to get rid of them, and I don't know anyone close enough to me that I trust. My dad won't let me keep them over at his house, because his cats will fight with him...I really want to keep them somehow, I don't know what to do, please help, Thank you so much.

I think that you should keep them at one of the day cares or something to keep them away for the day. then you can ask your dad to let them stay just for the night. then during the few hours that they're not at either one, you can play with them. this will work, but cost a lot of money. If you really love them then you will do it. if you can't do it money wise) then you can ask a friend to let them play at the house during the day and then you can play with them whenever you want. you should also pay for food, any damage done, and for the lobar. and if your dad wont let you keep them at his house during the night, then you can ask a friend to do it and pay them for lobar and damage. other than that, there's nothing to do besides sell them. if you sell them to people close to you then you can make a deal with them that you'll lower the price if they choose you to baby sit the pets when they are on vacation and let you visit the animals2 times a month or however much you want. if neither one works out, good luck. find a nice home for them and kiss them many tome before they go. I hope one piece of my advice will work for you.

Find a different place.
It's that simple.

If you really love them that much, how could you leave them?

I will never understand how people can move and leave their pets behind at a shelter or just toss them off to someone else.

Would you do the same thing with your kids?

You made a commitment to these animals and if you can't honor that commitment, then the best you can do is to place them in a NO - KILL shelter and hope they get adopted.

DO NOT give them away for free!!!
They could fall into anyone's hands that way.
If you place them within a rescue organization or a no - kill shelter, all prospective owners will be screened and the cats and gerbils will be guaranteed a good home.

The only answer I can give you is if your old enough to work talk to the apartment manager and see if you pay a little more if you can keep the cats. Sometimes they do that and the gerbils they probably won't find out because there in a cage right? Unless your mother doesn't wanna risk it. I hope every thing works out for you.

YOu could try sneaking the cats in but you have to make sure they are VERY clean & you keep up after them....as far as the gerbils go there shouldnt be a problem w those, most apartments dont have a problem w small animals that are contained in a cage, ie: hamsters, gerbils, fish, etc etcetc....good luck to you!! I know how hard it is to find a place taht accepts animals!!

It's time to make the best of a bad situation.
Hate to say this, but you have to "bite the bullet".
You state that you can't keep them and don't know anyone close enough that you trust. So, it's either someone that you don't know that well (newspaper or Craig's list add "free for good home") or the local Humane Society. Don't wait any longer or the decision will be taken out of your control.

Sneaking them in wont work. Cat dander will be spread throughout every room in the appartment. If someone is allergic, they will allert the person incharge about these random allergic reactions.

Eventually, they'll find out, and you may be kicked out of the appartment as a consiquence.

You must ind another place to live, or find a friendly neighbor who can be trusted to home your pets. You can visit as often as you like! :D

Hurry up and find an apartment that allows pets or just sneak them in assuming the cats are indoor only.

You should have got an apartment that allows pets. If you try to sneak them in, you are just being a sneaky person.

Do the cats and gerbils play well together? If not, then try that and then all you have to worry about is the cats.

your best bet is to just sneak them into the apartment in some lugage or something, i mean cats are easy to hide, and gerbals dont really try to run away. i would try that if i were you cuz i have cats and i would never give them up.
