Cold water wash with SALT and or VINEGAR added to your wash cycle. They set the color in so it doesn't bleed/run any more.

You can keep your shirt red by I think works..buy the Wool Lite detergent for "Dark Color". If you wash it, select the "cold water", not "hot water", that is what fades a lot of color off your clothes. The cold water keep its color, and when u dry it, choose medium to low heat. And probably that should at least help it. But if you really want to keep the original red, try not to laundry it too much..Example..washes it once or twice every week...

You need to set the dye. Add 1 cup of regular white vinegar to the washing machine at the start of the final rinse cycle.
This works for any color which may run. Dry as usual.
The dryer is hard on all clothes. Hanging to dry will reduce fading.

Wash it only using "COLD" water. It works everytime. It wont stop the fading, but it greatly slows it down. Try it out. I learned this along time ago from my mom.

Wash and rinse with cold water only.
Use formulated color bleach only if desired or needed. Use short cycle. Also, there's no need to use to much detergent. Manufacturer's want you to use alot so you'll buy more product more often.

If they fade in both cold and hot water, then try dry cleaning it. Or hand wash and drip dry it away from the sun.
