love is a very special thing, a smile or two or a soft summer rain, it has no beginning it has no end that's why i like it best when it shared with a FRIEND... looooooove is never stuffed up never puffed up it never gives up when the goings rough, and that's why i like it best when it's shared with a FRIEND.

thank you thank, i'll be here all week....don't forget to tip the waitress!!!

The definition of friendship is quite a complicated one, really. Friendship has been defined as, for example, a person who can talk you out of doing foolish things. Some people would call that a very selfish definition, and the same for the classic "a person who is there when you need them." Of course, the people who think this way most certainly do have friends, so perhaps there is something to the definition.

For myself, I would say that the word "friend," to me, represents many things. "A person with whom I can discuss my beliefs without fear of reprisal" is a strong one, but then there are people that fall under that whom I do not consider friends. Or, "a person who shares a significant amount of personality in common with me;" but that's just plain narcissistic. If I said, "a person who is loyal to me, and caring," then unfortunately there are some people who fall into the umbrella of "they like me, but I do not like them."

I don't think there really can be a definition written for the word "friend." I believe that friendship is a facet of love, and as such, is not rational, and cannot really be rationally defined.

Well, I want to tell you my version of friend , first of all it is someone who is loyal to you , stands behind every decision you make right or wrong, someone you can tell your most inner secrets to and it wont be spread all over your town . My best friend died last week in fact she will have been burried a week tomorrow there was a big age difference between us she was 55 and i am only 33 but she was the best friend i have ever had . I thought when i was in high school i had best friends but this lady was the best true friend i ever had . We shared our feelings, we had this agreement she always told me "if you are my friend you dont have to walk on egg shells with me tell me what you think we can work through anything."

I have just the answers for you. A friend is someone who through all your shortcomings is there not just to agree but to be truthful with you at every turn. A friend knows when you are hurting, and without hesitation leans her(or his) shoulder over to let you cry. A friend knows all about you, and still says I'm here for you. I have such a friend. We have been best friends since 1956, and through all the weddings, deaths, children, good, and bad times we remain each others confidant. We have had our falling outs through the years but no one is closer to me than she is. and vice versa. This is what the word friend means to me.

A friend is the person you can count on when you're sure no one else is there. A friend will give you support, in all ways, to help you be happy. Although I heard a joke once that I really liked about the difference of friends. A "casual" friend is someone you can call to bail you out of jail. A "real" friend is sitting in jail with you - going "I can't believe we did that - let's do it again!"

To me, the word friend means honesty, trust, love, and respect. For example, I have this best friend who loves me so much and love her just the same. We have each other's backs. We laugh, we cry. She tells me the truth. Sometimes, if I don't want to hear the truth, she makes me listen, she never turns her back on me. She helped me through the toughest times, and I even helped her out. See, a friend will always care about you and love you FOR WHO YOU ARE.

i think the word: friend means someone u can trust, be honest with u, keeps secrets, doesnt start rumors about u, makes u feel good about ur self, helps u out when u really need it the most, doesnt diss u, u never get tired. thats what i think a friend is.

To me being a good friend is listening to them if they need, being there for anything they need (unless something traumatic happens to be happening to you at the same time), keeping confidence when they tell secrets, having complete respect and trust with one another... everything should be reciprocated, there shouldn't have to be paybacks and stuff
