||Edit: In response to the two answers below me: There are actually several places that even ban the sale of mice as feeders. I believe that it is more of a common practice in North America which- although I know it's hard to believe- isn't the whole world. As for killing and eating chickens, lamb, etc. I'm a vegetarian and I agree completely that it's cruel, lol.||

Hahah I saw this and was like "...is that supposed to be my name??".

Anyways. I know people feed mice to their snakes, and yes many times it goes just fine, but there are many cases of mice fighting back which is inhumane for the snake too. I'm not a snake/reptile hater, I actually quite like them, but I also like mice and think that everything should be done in the most humane way.

There are many other alternatives as well, depending on the size and type of snake. Frozen mice are often an option most people over look. I realize that snakes prefer moving food, which is why there are things you can buy which vibrate them, or also tweezers things you can use to attract the snake to it. This takes some time/training, but is often a solution.

There's also pinkies which, although still alive, cannot harm the snake. So even though I still hate to see them go, but least it isn't a double-edged sword.

"it is not cruel. get your facts straight..." How is it not cruel to the mouse and even sometimes the snake? Even if you condone live feeding, you cannot honestly say that the mouse is having a grand old time.

You say that you will wait until you have a place for them to go, but you had said earlier that you have to sell them or they'll be released into the wild. I think you're contradicting yourself.

Breed them, whack them, then freeze them. When your ready to feed put the frozen critter in hot water, warm it up, and wiggle it around, the snake should eat it. Problem solved.

Oh and if you were thinking of shipping em around the world >>"people all around the world buy mice to feed to their pet snakes"<< It take a good guess there are export laws for biding it.

It's the nature of the world.

People tend to pity small animals being eaten.

How about us eatiing beef, lamb chop and chicken chop? Aren't we cruel too?
