could you please tell me is there any different between following sentences :

When I was in my teens, I liked PLAYING football.
When I was in my teens, I liked TO PLAY football.

"I liked playing football", I believe, is the past progressive mode of the verb. It carries a slight connotation of finality. In other words, you no longer like to play football. "I liked to play football", on the other hand, is an infinitive verb phrase, and leaves open the possibility that you still enjoy playing the game.

There is no difference. But, grammar puritans prefer to use the second one.
