I think Germany will win in 2010 because of the following reasons. They have a lot of young players on the team like Lukas Podolski (who won best young player award) and Bastian Schweinsteiger. These players will only continue to improve as they get older. Schweinsteiger's performance in the match against Portugal was spectacular, Germany was able to crack through Portugal's defense to score three goals. Remember France only scored one goal against Portugal, and that was a penalty kick, they have a solid defense. If Germany could work more on their defense, I think they will win in 2010, as they have a great offense. And also if Timo Hildebrand continues the tradition of great German goalkeeping like his predessors Andreas Kopke, Oliver Kahn, and Jens Lehmann ( who in my opinion is the best goalkeeper I have ever seen)

Yes, I know it is way too early, but we can always speculate. And yes, there maybe a World War III, you do have a point there.

I am quite sure Ballack will be back, there have been some sources that say he won't, but he is only 29 now, and I think he will return. And yes, let's not forget that Odonkor is another outstanding up and coming young player.

Oh,my friend.I cannot agree more.Germany now has a lot of talented players and also the spirit just like the steel.Podolski is the gift that God has given Germany. He should take his chance in FC Bayern and become the main force of the club so that he can be more excellent.Miroslav Klose will be able to play in 2010,too.In midfield,David Odonkor is a new discovery. His pace is already amazing, all he should do is to improve some skills. In defence,Lahm is already a world-class one.But the central/right defender is unconvinced.Fredrich is a little clumzy and Robert Huth often presents the rival with a penalty.Hope Germany can get a new Franz Beckenbauer so that Germany won't meet another Fabio Grosso again. And Ballack, although he will be a little older in 2010,he can still be of great use.As long as Germany can get some more good defenders, they can surely win the World Cup 2010.

Germanys great performance in this years world cup can be put down simply as the home ground advantage. Coming into the finals everyone had seemingly written them off, including thier own fans and the press who constantly hounded the coach for not residing in Germany and called for his sacking before the tournament had even started. A top effort against lowly Costa Rica immediately got the country behind them, and bouyed by this success the team morale lifted, on the back of its massive home support. As for 2010, I think they will struggle, even though they have some brilliant young players like Podolski and Schweinsteiger, it must be remembered that every team in the finals will have excellant youngsters in thier line-ups. Watch out for Brazil, who have appointed Dunga as thier new manager, as the would have been bitterly dissapointed at thier early exit from 2006. Other teams to watch I believe will be Spain and Argentina, two more exciting 'young' teams with bright futures.

Germany has been the most successful European national team at international competitions, having won a total of 3 World Cups and 3 European championships;
It has finished as runners-up four times, two more than any other side. In terms of semifinal appearances, Germany leads with 11, one more than Brazil's 10, which had participated in two more tournaments (all 18, in fact). Germany has also qualified for every of the 16 World Cups it has entered ....
sso i think they have a great chance in 2010 if they stay on the same performance

Don't you think it is too early to make such a statement?
Your reasons may be good, but there are so many other Teams that have many young players who will reach the 2010 World Cup at their best.
Some examples:
Brasil - has young players like Kaka, Robinho, Ronaldinho, Cicinho, Fred, Luisao who will make the difference on any Team.
Netherlands - has players like Van Persie, Babel, Robben, Heitinga, Maduro, Sneijder... all of them excellent players.
Argentina - young players like Messi, Coloccini, Saviola, Tevez, Mascherano, M.Rodriguez, Cambiasso will be there at the next World Cup.
Italy - the young players like Gilardino, Zaccardo, Barzagli, De Rossi, Barone, Cassano (+ Buffon and Nesta) will be at 2010 World Cup.
Ok, I have just indicated four Teams that have the same amount of young players Germany has, but there are several other Teams with excellent young players too.
How can you say that Germany is better than the others?
Maybe you have to wait until Euro 2008.

Hey crazy_one !
I think at this point it's a bit too early to predict who's going to win 2010 World Cup...all the qualifying teams have a very good chance but let the Italians enjoy their victory....We still have 4 years to go and maybe by than we'll have a World War III....LOL

NOT ONLY THAT WHEN EVER WORLD CUP IS HELD IN EUROPE, A EUROPEAN COUNTRY HAS WON(EXCEPTION BRASIL 1970) .... SO IN 2010 BRASIL WILL WIN.... AS EUROPEANS CANT FIX THE MATCHES....
