I'm pale and proud.

I'm pale and it looks good on me, what with my dark hair and light eyes.
Plus I'm free from skin cancer! ;)
I'm not pasty, just not BAKED like everyone wants to be.

I DO. Tryna stay away from the sun & enjoy a sunny day at the same time..which is hard. Im not pale but i used to be & i was proud too. Now i got a tan BY WALKIN OUT in the sun too much. Ewww, i dont wna be too dark now so im tryna avoid the sun. Alla my friends talked bout wanting a tan & stuff, & when it comes to that subject =x no comment. Just cause people thinks tanning & stuff makes you look all healthy & all dont mean its all TRUE. I`d rather stick to my natural skin color than going for that unnatural orange/brown look..just not me

Pale skin is a lot more attractive than skin cancer! You should get 1/2 an hour of sun a day for Vitamin D. Otherwise, stay in and stay pale!

I've made peace with my being incredibly pale. I tend to burn very easily and would rather not have skin cancer issues when I'm older. So yeah, I think tanning is lame. Cooking your skin just doesn't sound like a good idea.

Tanning is not only lame, but dangerous. Skin cancer is one of the most dangerous and deadly cancers, and tanning increases your chances of getting it a lot. Trust me, cancer sucks. I have been there. Better to be pale. Besides, tan skin may look good now (when you are young) but my mother-in-law is one of the tannest people I know and at almost 60 she looks more like 80, with wrinkly skin and ugly brown patches and crap. (shudder)

Don't listen to the large group of tanned sheep with no mind of their own. I love being pale, my skin is like porcelain and there is no way I am letting some stupid trendy fad ruin that! I'm starting the pasty and proud club, wanna join?

PS. My husband thinks pale skin is sexier because its like you are seeing something you aren't supposed to.

You go girl!!!! There is nothing wrong with being proud of what you look like. As for me I love my naturally tan skin. I'm a black female but I have the look of a nice tan. I would have been proud of my skin color know matter how light or dark it may have been. I wouldn't trade mine for the world though!!!

A lot of people think being pale is pretty. For Asians, having light skin is good and they try to keep their skin pale.

just cause you do not tan doesn't make you safe from skin cancer! I love Tanning it is actually suggested by my dr. to help fight depression in winter. That is great you are pale and a beauty, I've always wanted porcelian looking skin but am too olive!

Being tan is nice, and a little sun is good for your skin, but being in the sun all the time (or tanning booths) just to get tan is really bad for your skin, especially without any sunscreen. Also it can cause premature aging of skin and wrinkling, not to mention cancer. So being in the sun or tanning booths for long periods of time is bad, but a little bit of natural sun won't hurt.

I think tanning booths are lame.
I think tanning "cream" is lame.
I think that laying out in the sun just for the sake of tanning is lame.

But a tan from actually spending time outdoors doing something worthwhile (like mountain biking, waterskiing, and of course any kind of construction job) is very legitimate.

Just remember: too much unprotected sun can cause skin cancer! Just like too much unprotected sex can cause kids...
