Does your subwoofer need an amplifier, or is it self-powered? If it is powered, you can simply buy a Y-connector to split the one output into two.
If the sub needs an amplifier, you also need to find out if it has its own crossover or if it was powered off of a specific subwoofer amplifier channel that only carries the bass.

The easy way of doing is to cut the wire. When the wire is cut you'll be able to hook it up.
