OK so if I wear a woolly jumper to work, it's not getting dirty - there's a long-sleeved t-shirt between it and my skin.
Should I put it back in the drawer, in a pile of "I've worn it but it's not dirty" clothes, or wash it anyway (Wasting water, soap, time, energy and the lifetime of the clothes item)?
I have a "I've worn it but it's not dirty" pile which, once worn twice, I then wash these rare items. Thing is, I hate having this pile. Is it OK to put it back in my drawer, or WHAT WOULD YOU DO??

This is what I would do:
After wearing it, i would probably see if it smells. If it does... wash it. If it doesn't, don't have a whole other pile for "I've worn it but it's not dirty".Put it in with the clean clothes. It doesnt matter, but if it smells you probably have a problem with your other clean clothes. After wearing it a second time, wash it. :)

I don't like having a "worn once" pile in my room either.
This works for me... I hang clothes I can wear again on a hanger hung on the back of my door to air out. Later it gets hung in the closet or folded & put back in the drawer. I'm a bit obsessive so anything I don't want to wear more than twice gets a mini clothespin clipped to the neckline. This reminds me it's been worn once & to toss it in the hamper after this wearing.

Putting the clothes back is not healthy either. Lets look at it this way, they may be clean and smell good, but once you warn them to public places, its another story whether its clean or not.
I have the same problem, but I can't wear anything twice once I warn it in public. Either I hand wash them or use little soap to wash them in the machine.
How do you know someone did touch the chair you were sitting after wipping their nose or cough in their hands. etc.

When there is a layer between the garment and the skin, it's totally OK to hang it up, or put it back in the drawer.

Spin in the dryer with a frabic sheet like Bounce.

Just wonder how old you are, but ur Mama didn't teach you to be clean, you need to wash everything you wear, I would hate to be standing next to you....Wash everything..........

Fold it up and put it away... .if you had other clothes on .. and you didn't spill on it or anything..I would.
