Prayer, most likely. The Democrats and Republicans have set up so many laws to hamstring the minor parties, it'll take a miracle or a major political screw-up (and I mean, MAJOR as in Bin Laden unloading some serious gas in a city) for the Libertarians to take office.

I believe the best way is to just spread the word out about Libertarianism. I think most people don't have a clue to what the Libertarian Party is all about.

As for the previous comment from Donut44, this is already happening check out www.freestateproject.org

I think the best way to attack this, is to start with a state and start a take over. Look to something like Georgia, that is kind of confused right now as to what they are. I honestly believe that a few wins by a libertarian would more than likely snap the GOP back into a conservative approach. Not that this is truly what we need or want, but probably what would happen. Either way, I really think that the South and some smaller midwestern states are great places to start.

1. Find the nearest Interstate highway with a 65 MPH or higher speed limit.

2. Go out and paint over the lane-separating dashed white lines with paint that looks like the pavement.

3. That will show people how the Libertarians do it.

First, there at the instant are not any polls suggesting that a majority of human beings, dislike the Libertarian occasion. lots greater in all probability, its because of the fact they dont comprehend approximately and in the event that they heard approximately it, they didnt worry doing any learn on it. and you're properly suited, human beings don comprehend on the subject of the Libertarian occasion because of the fact of our public faculties have indoctrinated each and every person to believing the status quo.

Change our electoral system. The "winner takes all" method we have now almost inevitably leads to a two party system. Countries with multiple parties generally have something called a Single Transferable Vote or Instant Runoff voting, which allows voters to rank their candidates in order of preference, rather then just vote for a single person. This system minimizes wasted votes and eliminates the "spoiler effect". If the candidate you rank first doesn't win, your vote goes on down to your second choice.

(I know this because I voted for Nader in '04, much to the chagrin of Democrats who thought I should go with the 'lesser of two evils')

Just speaking as one being stupid or smart enough to major in political science (and a conservative at that) - look online for the Libertarian party, navigate to your state, and then work for any campaign. Get involved!

Good luck with that. But a fringe party such as the Libertarian has little chance. I am afraid we are stuck with the two party system and perhaps your efforts should be concentrated on improving that.

That is so weird that that's your name! Do you know John Q Public?

If you want to help a minor part become a major one, it's all about exposure, and name recognition. You need someone who is or who can become a household name to back your cause...this will get it started, and get the tv cameras turned your way...then you can start building a platform...you need exposure to get out your message.

You can't. We are stuck with what we have. A bunch of lawyers out for their own good and the good of the party, not the good of John Q citizens.
