I rarely give money to homeless people; however, the last time I did was about a year and a half ago. I gave a homeless person five bucks to watch my brand new car ( I was parked in a bad neighborhood downtown). When I returned three hours later he was sitting next to it and everything was honky dory. The next time I parked in the same area a different homeless guy offered to watch my car and I declined the offer. I came back three hours later and of course my car was broken into. So, if you ever have the opportunity to have a homeless person watch your car give them 5 bucks or get $2000 dollars worth of damage done to your car. Talk about a bad night.

Last time I saw one. And it wasn't a dollar. It doesn't matter how much it is. The Bible teaches us not to let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. As well, 2 Cor. 9:7 tells us that God loves a cheerful giver.
Next time I see a homeless person I'll either give them money or more likely, buy them a hot coffee and a sandwich or give them some apples from my groceries or whatever.
I know what it's like to be hungry so I can't want by and do nothing.
Hunger is a fierce, fierce feeling.

Its against the law.
I am not going to give a dollar because more than likely it will be beer money.

The best gift to give a homeless person is a card that has credit on it for food. I think Jack n the box has those.

I have offered food to homeless, and they have taken it.
But once, he got all pissed and threw it back at me (he probably was going through withdrawels and NEEDED the cash for alcohol.)

Never will I ever give a homeless person money, it will just encourage them to remain on the street and not seek a job or the help they are offered (notice I did not say "need" or "deserve").

Never. I give to charity. The money the street people collect goes to drugs and alcohol.
