My daughter and I disagree...she thinks they are great...I think they sound like they are whining when the sing? Opinions?

I agree with all of you that their lyrics make are intelligent and make a statement. I just think the lead singer has an annoying voice. My daughter is not quite a teen, but I do "allow" her to listen to Green Day.
Oh yeah...I'm not quite old enough to have grown up on Buddy Holly, Elvis or The Beatles. I listened to the greatest rock bands ever...The Stones, Led Zep, Arrowsmith, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, etc. NO BAND today comes even close to the REAL rock music of my day!

If you're old enough to have a daughter, you should seriously listen to some of their older stuff. They're one of the few "thinking" and "entertaining" bands of ugh generation. I'm 33, and have appreciated their stuff for easily a decade. Not much else to say. Enjoy or not... it's like spicy shrimp. 'r something.

The band is legit, meaning they're real muscians who
starting playing music in bands around the age of 14.
Love the "American Idiot" CD which won the Grammy last
year for 'Best Rock Album', one magazine did a poll and
the video was voted the 'greatest rock video ever'!
Also, the CD debuted at #1 on Billboard charts.
Your daughter is right...Green Day ROCKS!!!
I listen to 'em and all is good!

That's because you probably grew up listening to elvis or the beetles. They rock your daughters right. You should stick to Buddy Holly and quit trying to be cool.

I think that they are just a fad. I have heard their songs over the years, but when they released their american idiot album, I kind of liked them because everyone liked them, but after a while I really did not have the taste for them. Just a fad. There are much better groups out there, plus, eye shadow is for ladies.

love them!!! I don't always agree with their views on things but respect them for having the guts to put themselves out there. Trust me there is alot worse stuff that your daughter could listen to. Have you ever heard a pop song recently? Do you want your daughter learning about grinding on her boyfriend?

I think that they are a good band!!!! All their cd's sound different from one another but they all rock!!!
