Next semester I'm going to be traveling, but I still want to work on my degree. I was going to take French in the class room, but now I won't be in my universities state. They offer a online course. How hard is that going to be? Do you recommend it?

My mom took French in college. I was also thinking about Spanish since I will be spending time in Costa Rica.

An important part of language studies is practicing to speak it with others. I question how well an online class will allow you to speak the language versus in a classroom.

I spent several years learning the Thai (Thailand) language at a local Thai temple and from books & tapes. The classroom experience really boosted my pronunciation.

Well, frankly speaking i have never gone for any language courses online, its all wastage of money rather that opting for any courses online, you can simply download some videos of speaking language and try to communicate it in group of your friends or relatives one to get a fastest result that would be more practicle from my point of view.
