I am not sure if the file is a process or a folder but if it is a process, you can prevent it from opening next time you startup by going to Start --> Run --> msconfig --> last tab called "Startup" and uncheck the box called "Common" or anything that you feel is linked to that file. Press ok and restart your PC to see if it is gone.

You may have caught some spyware or something else bad. Run a virus scan and your favorite anti-spyware software.
