There are plenty of good answers here (on the site as a whole, that is), but I think most like getting 2 cheap points.

The whole trick of life is not to get answers but to ask the right questions. So people just keep on asking questions expecting to come up with the right one.

Thomas Edison was asked, What did you know just before you discovered the light bulb? His reply, "I knew 7,000 things that wouldn't work." He kept notes of all his questions and all his wrong answers - until he found the right question.

I'm sure, if I ask you the right question, I would get the answer I am looking for. But then, what fun would that be and who today keeps track of all the wrong answers.

Again, if you are asking questions for which you already have the answers, like many of the religious, what will you ever learn? Most of the answers people are giving are answers they got from somebody else. This is true of all of us, but at some point your life should produce some unique answers; unless of course you are a parrot.

If a question is poorly worded enough, there "is no good answer." That's why the "staff" hat-wearing avatars and the gerbil hint about properly worded questions.

People ANSWER questions even poorly worded ones, because they are bored and want to engage in a conversation, even a one-way extemporaneous monologue.

And once people answer some questions, they often get "bitten" by the accumulation of points. So there you have it.

For me, I'm becoming addicted to this site because it distracts me from my everyday routine and slows my mind down from the chaos of thoughts of a long, full day.
