I've thought the same thing for years. Men are NOT going to stop having sex with women, they don't call it the oldest industry in the world for nothing.
So, instead of wasting police time and money, regulate the industry. Safe, secure places are the only answer. I live just outside Vancouver BC and there's a trial about to start in Sept. for a guy who is accused of killing 34 sex trade workers with another 30 still missing and it's assumed that he was responsible. It's disgusting, if they had worked in a regular place this never would have happened.
Regardless what anyone thinks of these women, they're human and should be treated as such.

I think this is a very complex situation. It is just not that simple. Having more brothels may not neccessary lower the amount of rape.
Besides, brothels are controlled by triads. If they are allowed to run them so widespread, before long, they can dominate the society. Girls may be hookwinked into joining them. Their cronies may also carry out triad activities. Then, before long, your own girls will be threatened.
It is just not that simple.

I totally agree! I don't see why people are so against this. I think it would cut down on rapes, STD's, and help lessen the burden of taxes on us. It's not like prostitution isn't going on in every city in this country anyway!

I think that you have a point, but it creeps me out because my 60 year old mother said the same thing the other day.

I think prostitution should be legal and regulated. It is not up to the government to tell us what we may and may not do with our bodies.
