Irregular periods do not cause infertility, it's just that your ovulation pattern is more unpredictable. However, there is a great method called Natural Family Planning that teaches you to track your cycle so even women with irregular periods can read their fertility signs and either achieve pregnancy or postpone it. You can find out lots more at www.ccli.org
If you want help with regulating your cycles they have a great book (The Art of Natural Family Planning) that devotes a lot of space to this subject. Some things I know have helped women regulate their cycles are:
1. Better diet
2. A great supplement called Optivite PMT (also lessens PMS symptoms)
3. Keeping the room totally dark at night, even if that means wearing a mask over your eyes.
The book has many other tips and guidance. Best of luck to you!

irregular periods isn't a cause for infertility, but it will make it harder to conceive. I had irregular as well! I went to a fertility and they told me that it might just throw your ovulation off so I had sex every 2 days and after that the same month! I am now 8 weeks!

Well, the irregular periods in itself isn't a cause for infertility, but it will make it harder to concieve. Believe me. I know. However, what is causing your irregular periods? That might be something that you need to ask your doctor.

Yes. If you don't ovulate on day 14 of your cycle it can be harder to get pregnant. The longer it takes you to ovulate the harder it will be. Some women who have irregular cycles have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) which is one of the leading causes of infertility. If you have that taking a pill called metformin can help you to ovulate regularly and become pregnant. If you have irregular cycles and are having trouble getting pregnant you should see your gyn. or a reproductive endocrinologist - they can do tests and help you figure out what's going on.

i don't think so. i'm really irregular, have been all my life. and i have a son. you're not infertile, since you have periods. the only complication i can see is that it might be harder to get pregnant since you can't time it.

no. irregular periods can be caused by many factors, that doesn't mean you can't conceive. It could be that your period isn't regular yet if you are young. if you are still so concerned ask your doctor.
