Yes, and we will be celebrating our one year wedding anniversary in October. :) As a matter of fact the sex is even better now than it was the first time, and the first time was very intense.

yes - lets see here - umm, how many relationships that i have had would i consider successful? successful criteria includes, say, being longer than 2 years and being mutually enjoyable and basically feeling stimulation from the guy and from life during time together and lastly, from productivity in other areas of my life during time together and same for him - meaning the relationship did not affect negatively our work or health ( too much - sex made up for lack of exercise at times ) - soo, hell, yes, let's see, 5 relationships of 2 or more years and 4/5 were successful overall and i was in bed first maybe second date and most dates thereafter. the most recent one is the exception and that is because he is unlike anyone i have ever met before and hope never to meet again - an exceptional jerk.
i ought to say though that maybe if i had waited so much emphasis would not have always been put on sex in the relationship - course - that mainly applies only to current 'ship.

Relationships are only as good as the effort you put into them.

I slept with my husband within the first week of knowing him (I was 18 and didn't have much in the way of restraint) and we've been married for almost 8 years now.

I have been married to my husband for 18 years and we have three children. We had sex the first night I met him. I am not proud of this fact, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But we have made it work, with LOTS of hard work and dedication and loyalty. Fortuanately, he is a very good man with a good heart and has stuck by my side through good times and bad times. And our marriage is stronger and better now than it's ever been. He's still my lover and best friend.
So I don't recommend sex before marriage, but you can make it work if you BOTH are dedicated and loyal to the marraige.

Yes, I did. I am now married to that man. we had sex 3 days after we met and married a month later. Maybe we were just lucky, I am not saying go out and get married, but it is possible to have a relationship with someone.

The fragility of friendships that were supossedly unbreakable is just another hard slap of reality. The only constant is this world is change. (Some) good things wun last, just like how 50% sales at Mango wun last. =)

but perhaps its the treasured memories of the past and hopeful anticipation for the future which keeps us going on this seemingly never ending road of life..

no, but it depends on your definition of successful. I went a year with someone (after *^%$# on the first date), but in the end it didn't work out.

Don't do it..... in the long run, whether it lasts or not, it will establish certain things in your relationship regardless of wherever else it goes..... Waiting on sex is more than just "holding out"..... think about what else it could really be.....

Good question. I haven't... but I can't believe that is a deciding factor in the longevity of a relationship.
