well, you take, -3 x 27

Its negative 81.

-3 x 3 cubed
You would cube the positive 3 first, (3x3x3=27), then you would times the negative 3 to 27, (-3x27= -81)..and you're done.

In order to answer that, we need to see it in writing, or you need to be more specific about the placement of the operators.

Do you mean:

A. (-3)*(3^3) or
B. ((-3) * 3)^3

For A, you have (3^3) = 27 * (-3) = (-81)
For B, you have (-9)^3 = -279

Or was the original problem something totally different than A or B?

Good Luck!

its -243 i think, because -3x3=-9, and -9 cubed is lets see here... -9x-9=27x-9= -243 does that make sense i hope that helps! im gonna be in geometry this year, and i took Algebra II last year so ya, but depending how you say it could also be -81, because -3x3cubed which is -3x3x3x3 is -81 so ya, and dont pay attention to other ppll who bash you, get help where u can!

depends. if it's written like this -3 * 3^3 the answer is -81 but if it's written like this (-3 * 3) ^ 3 the answer is -729. Parentheses are important

It depends on how the problem is written.

If the problem is -3*(3)^3, then the answer is -81.

If the problem is (-3*3)^3, then the answer is -729.

it depends on where the parentheses lie. if your question is (-3 * 3) ^ 3, then it's (-9)^3, which is -243. if it's -3 * (3)^3, then it's -81. remember, always work inside the parentheses first. it's called order of operations, have a looksie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_operations

If I understand you question correcly:

- (3*3^3) = -(3*[3*3*3]) = -(3[27]) = -(81) = -81.
