the song is from the 50s or 60s about a boy and a girl driving a car. The boy gives the girl his class ring and then the car stalls on some rail road tracks. They get out, but the girl left the ring in the car. He goes back to get it and the car is hit by a train and he dies. Its not "Last Kiss" by Frank Wilson. Can someone please help?

Your wife is thinking of the song "Teen Angel" sung by Mark Dining, released in 1960. It was also on the soundtrack for the movie "American Graffiti"....links below...
