Your friend needs to get a pop up blocker installed.

First, you have to see where the pop ups are coming from. Certain websites would have pop ups, and these cannot be removed by ad-aware. You can use Internet Explorer's pop-up blocker, and also install Google Toolbar which also has a pop-up blocker to block these ads. Personally, I prefer using Firefox with Google toolbar.

If the pop-ups appear no matter which website your friend visits, then it's probably a spyware. In that case, look for specific common traits among the pop-ups, like whether it always opens a particular website. Or if your friend's homepage always get set to a particular website without your friend changing anything. If it's indeed a spyware, you can do a search on the Internet for the particular spyware remover, like maybe "pop up + (whatever website that kept popping up)" or something like that. Specific spyware removal instructions tend to work better than generic spyware removers like ad-aware.

Perhaps you can give more information on what exactly is the problem and how it always appear?

I'd say cleanse the system with fire and sword, but that would be a bit extreme.

You've got stuff that self-regenerates, which means that there are bits and pieces stashed away in the Registry, and probably other places, too.

Boot your system into Safe Mode, and run your virus scan and anti-spyware programs. I use McAfee, and Spy Sweeper, along with Spyware Doctor.

If you know someone who is really technically adept, have them download and run "Hijack This!' on your system to clean up your registry and other things.

hi, there maybe something wrong with your IE.

i recommand you to use firefox.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

firefox can edit which site/popup to block and unblock.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

download firefox for free:
