After initial complaints of pain in my right side, exploratory surgery was done and my appendix was removed by laproscopy. I still have deep lower intense burning cramps. .......WHAT TO DO?

AT FIRST THEY DID EXPLORATORY SURGERY....THAT IS WHEN THEY FOUND THE CYST AND APPENDIX. DR. SAID THAT REMOVAL OF THE CYST WOULD REQUIRE A MUCH LARGER INCISION. HOWEVER IN THE FUTURE I MIGHT HAVE PROBLEMS GETTING PREGNANT WITH THE CYST (i'M 34 WITH NO CHILDREN). HE SAID THIS AFTER THE FACT.

I was under the assumption that any significant uterine cyst can cause pain and discomfort. If you doctor has ruled this out as the cause...then perhaps they need to look at your bladder (for possible infection or cyst)...or even get a second opinion. Have they done ultrasound to look for the source?

If your doctor is saying it should not hurt until it is grapefruit size, they are wrong! It is your body and you should be insistent with the doctor that it does hurt. Ask the dr for pain medicine. If your dr still won't do anything get a second opinion! In the meantime, try laying down with a heating pad and see if that helps. I am a little confused about your question and then the details you give. A uterine cyst is on the uterous. But you said they took out your appendix...that is two different things. You might try going to a gastrointestinal dr and see what they say.

I would get a second opinion..
Just because you have a cyst and it isn't the size of a grapefruit doesn't mean that it shouldn't hurt..Cysts much smaller than that could cause pain...

I would def go to a different doctor..because whoever told you that doesn't seem like someone I would want to go to..

Go to the doctor..you could have some other underlying condition..Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Fibroids..you just can't know until there is more exploration..

Good Luck

Definately see a OBGYN. I had a cyst that turned into the size of a large grapefruit on my ovary which was immediately removed. If i hadn't lost my uterus a few years previous, I would still be able to conceive as long as there is one healthy ovary.
Get a second opinion.

Go to another doctor, I suggest a gynecologist. Any good doctor would give you a medication to shrink this cyst or remove it. Sounds wrong to wait and let it grow to the size of a grapefruit.

Whether or not it "should" be hurting, it does. So, what are the doctors going to do about it? Are you having it removed, or what? If you don't feel the doctor is taking appropriate action, I suggest getting a second opinion on your options for treatment. Good luck.

My sister's mother in law (a nurse who believed in homeopathic medicine) turned me on to raspberry for my ovarian cyct problem. I chose to go with the raspberry capsules, but drinking (unpre-sweetened) raspberry tea is supposed to help soften the cysts naturally.

Also you may want to check out www.hufa.org, especially the symptoms page. It might be the result of a blood sugar imbalance.

Keep pushing for treatment and find a new doctor.

Shouldn't hurt my a**. And why didn't he take the cyst?

Don't give up, its your body and your pain. Find a doc willing to listen and actually do something to help you. They are out there!

Good luck!

Get the opinion of another gynecologist as soon as possible.
A second opinion and examination could give the doctors more information about your condition or any possible complications of your laparoscopic surgery.
