They are the same engine, and all will swap just fine, both are made by Isuzu, which is a division of Chevrolet (don't believe me?, just look at the Isuzu Hombre pickup and tell me who made it.) Same vehicle different badges, swap away!

The ORIGINAL passport WAS just a rebadged isuzu!
It was a stop gap measure by Honda to get into the growing SUV market.
I do not know if they started making their own version and if so, what year it was.
The isuzu had an isuzu motor not a chev!
but you can go to your local auto zone and have them check on a few parts like cams of valves. if they are the same, the engine WILL be interchangable!

There is a lot more to swapping engines than what you mentioned.

There are all the hookups for fluids - oil, fuel lines, coolant, etc.
There is the weight balance, and mounting points for the engine. If the weight balance is different, your whole front suspension is thrown off. Also the mounting points for all your accesories, pumps, etc. all might be in different places.

I suggest buying a rebuilt engine of the one you have...
