Have you tried spraying out the drive with some canned air?. My PS2 used to have the same problem and that fixed it up quite nicely.

if your lazer reader is dirty you can buy a cleaning disk at best buy for like $15, but if it's the hardware (my friend's x-box have a hardware problem) thoese are harder to fix you would need to bring to a gamestop or gamecrazy and see if they can fix it.

It may be that the disk drive lens is dirty because mine did the same thing until I cleaned it.
