I could give you a really long answer, but I'm pretty tired right now. So...I'll tell you that you should read the books "Worse Than Watergate" and "Conservative Without Conscience" by John Dean. You'll understand it then.

It all started in 1994 when the Republican Party gained control of Congress. You'll find the rest in those books.

Conservative Without Conscience will answer your question about how they gained control, and if there's hope for a return to traditional conservatism.

You want to know how Neocons got into power. Its called rigged elections with voting machines, (and Jeb Bush rigged things up for big brother in Florida). Click on this link to see how the nutcase Neocons rig elections. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3695211834018080649 Neocons are the enemy, weigh into that. Neocons are killing America little by little.

John Stossel did a report on ABC's 20/20 called John Stossel goes to Washington. He found out that Neocons have actually increased the size of government twice as much as anybody.

Stossel also found out there has been more pork barrel spending done by Neocons then any other political party ever.

It's time to take America back folks. But it's an uphill battle with rigged elections and voting machine fraud from Conservatives.

the republican neocons have done the complete opposite of what the party stood for just 50 years ago, the dems aren't much better. it seems at this moment in time that the 2 parties have essentially merged into one-- their core principles are the same- ignore the American populous and do what Israel and the corporations want. our country is going bankrupt something no republican in the past would ever have conceivably let happen

They surrendered their party to:
Lobbyists with lots of money to hand out,
Christian Fundamentalists with self-righteous agendas,
Far Right Wing Media nuts like everyone at FOX faux news,
Business Executives like Cheney looking to pad an already obscenely stuffed bank account.

and in the process have lost anything Ronald Reagan would be proud of. It might have even driven him back to the Democratic Party where he should have stayed i the first place.

The GOP, as replaced into even conceded on the Republican nationwide convention only a couple of minutes in the past, has curiously lost its way. Republicans are meant to be the champions of laissez-faire capitalism and minimum authorities intervention. purely placed, both Bush and McCain have did not illustrate the primacy of those values. Bush replaced into too quick with the set off finger in Iraq, and McCain has been too quick to attempt to out-liberal Obama at the same time with his laundry record of "bailout" measures. Can the GOP pass decrease back to its glory days? i imagine so, yet first, it would want to change into sparkling to the yankee public that the welfare state chokes the achievers in society, prompting them to take their thoughts, their organizations and their money distant places. It might want to change into sparkling that American overseas coverage might want to fix its former reverence for minimalism, attempting to open overseas international locations to our beliefs by demonstrating what capitalism has executed for us, no longer by occupying them with our troops. between the previous answerers observed Ron Paul, and Dr. Paul easily has it correct. besides the undeniable fact that, we are at the moment in a component in which the rustic is steadily turning out to be extra liberal. This area isn't new, as you will be able to observe by searching on the politics of the hot Deal. ultimately, the conservative values of meritocracy, economic self-discipline and decentralized authorities will go back to the fore, yet conservatives will in all probability to might want to look ahead to this to take position. One purely hopes the liberals do not do too a lot damage even as they're in charge for the subsequent 4 years. this can properly be painful.

Well basically what has happened it has been redefined. Years ago when you used the term 'conservative' that mean that you leaned to the right. Now if you use conservative that is the middle for republicans and neocons or religious rights are the far right.

tough as hell (above) gives a very interesting perspective of how this happened. All I can say is: They got in somehow, and somehow they must be removed. They are BAD news!
