tomatoes are often considered to be a vegetable... hoever they are in fact a fruit... and a fruit that has more vitamin C than an orange.

By definition, a tomato is a fruit because it has seeds! However, the government deems it to be a vegetable for tax purposes. No it was actually an act to bennefit the people and save us from paying taxes on tomatoes. I did a search last year to satisfy my curiosity here. sorry, I didn't save the web site !

Tomato is a fruit.. Think...If it continues to ripen after it is picked it is a a fruit..If it starts to rot then it is a vegetable. That is a an easy way to remember.
