Sounds to me like you are a little bit of an overachiever. Give yourself a break. Relax. That is the best advise.
Skip questions you are not completely comfortable with. You might have time to go back to them, but if not, guess. When the proctor calls the last few minutes, start filling in bubbles. You are not penalized for wrong answers and you have a one in 4 shot of being right.
At least that was true when I took them 10 years ago. If the total score is still 1600, honey, you are doing fine.

there is a trick to it, by now you should know that the answers get harder as you progress. For example 1-10 are the ones that you should focus on so if you choose to concentrate on 20-30 you will rly be wasting time. in other words 1-10 easy, 10-20 medium, 20-30 really hard. and remember the ones that you have no clue leave them blank cause if you guess you will loose a lot more points than if you would have left it blank. in other words focus on the easier ones after you are done with those try the harder ones.

and YES YES YES you are penalized!! 4 points instead of half a point.

has the SAT changed that much? 1580 used to be a damn good score. I long time ago a 1250 could get you into most places. Where are you trying to go? What you if your going to be a senior this year I suggest joining something useful, its all you need is little something. Your SAT scores are fine you don't have to get a perfect score. Liar

A lot of the times you don't actually need to solve the problems on the SAT. You can usually tell by just looking at the answers and eliminating which ones aren't possible.
Also, in some cases its faster just to plug in all the answers than it is to figure out the solution to the problem.

But mainly, just don't freak out at the time, pace yourself.

Good luck! :D

Yeah, On the questions you don't really have the time, or knowledge, to figure properly, estimate the answers, and you should be able to rule out one as too high, and one too low. Then even when you guess between the remaining two it's at least 50/50. Good luck.
