yes, your speedometer will also show you going slower than you actually are.

If the wheel size is bigger, than you will have to recalibrate the speedometer. Because the car was normally calibrated at the factory with smaller set of wheels. Go to a garage to get it fixed.
It only needs the CPU updated...
And because the wheels are bigger it could be heavier perhaps if so , the car will have to work a little bit harder to turn the wheels so may use more fuel..... thats if it's heavier than the one before.
But your car will also have more traction, and if there is more traction your acceleration will slow a little.
Anyway use the link below to find out......... I'm confusing myself !!
According to the calculations bigger Rims means your car will show a slower speed. but in fact you are going faster !!
Check for 5-O's

it depends on what size you are starting off with and what size you are going to put on if you increase the rolling diameter then you will have to take in to account that your speedo will not read corectly on newer cars where the speedo goes off the wheel speed sensors you can recalibrate the computer and if you are having the wheels and tires put on by a shop that performs it a lot then they will be able to tell you if they do it

for most automobiles it wont make that much of a difference,,it will increase your gas mileage some if you don't go too big,,as far as throwing off your speed-ometer it might throw it off little,,on some you Will notice a big change,,some ,,you wont,,as long as you stay within what the factory says you can run it Will be OK,,it will tell you ,,on the side of the door what tire size,s that your car could have on it,,i always go by this,,and it help,s,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s you some.

It will effect the speedometer indication but your dealer can reset that via the computer.
Beyond that you may notice different handling characteristics. The ride quality may be effected depending on your new tires and the car will sit a little higher. But it will likely look much cooler too! Go for it!

The speed will decrease and you will make a little more effort to turn but it's going to be more stable in high speed and traveling in highways.

neither....i just added rims on my vehicle..
theres NO way to re-calibrate a speedo...it doesnt affect gas mileage..theres no way to do anything to the computer becuase the computer cannot detect "bigger rims" it can detect like more airflow from an intake...in some cases it will make your performance better..

It is possible that your speedometer may read incorrectly, you can get this checked somewhere.
