People will be cloned - it is inevitable.
I didn't say it was good - only that the science of embryology
and genetics is progressing so fast that it is an inevitable outcome.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with cloning per se, but its
the OTHER issues surrounding it that can be dicey.
For instance, if you bring a clone to term and then kill it
to use its parts, that is murder.
If you bring a clone to term and then don't take care of it,
it is child abandonment.
If you bring lots of clones to term (and therefore you have
lots of money), you could significantly effect the gene pool
(that is, increase the likelihood of future inbreeding).
That is the only NEW issue that cloning brings to the table:
the possibility of tampering with the gene pool.
All of the other issues devolve into existing issues (murder,
child abandonment, etc...)

Medical advances have enabled us to find cures for diseases that plagued our ancestors. And current reseach have centered on the cloning of stem cells to replace damaged cells or parts of the body. However it would be only a matter of time before it would indeed be possible to clone an entire human being.
The question would then be why one would want to clone a human being? That is a question only the future generation can answer. For there may come a time when cloning could be the only means to propagate human life. Until then i hope we would not have to clone humans for spare parts etc.

I certainly wouldn't want to be cloned. However, I don't think cloning is going to play too big a part in the future of humanity. The primary advantage would probably be to get spare parts for people, kind of like that movie "The Island". But there are other advances in medicine such as genetics, stem cells, and even nanotechnology, that may offer better and less socially controversial alternatives.

It seems inevitable (if it is not already been done) that somebody will try to clone humans.
Based on findings on cloned of animals - it seems that the clone turns out to be surprisingly different from the original animal. Therefore, if they managed to clone Michael Jordan - the clone will likely be tall and dark, but there is no guarantee that he will be a basketball genius.

No, I don't think animals will be able to clone people, ever.
