The fact that you are taking someone's work and passing it off as your own is wrong. That person spent their time, money, and energy to create the work and for antoher person to steal it in seconds without much effort is unethical.

Essentially, plagiarism is theft. If you present someone else's ideas or words as your own, you've stolen them. I certainly couldn't take someone else car, drive it around, and pretend like it was mine, and when the police caught me say, "Well, his car was red, and I painted it blue, so it's mine now."
