My husband is in the air force... and a cop... and deployed every 6 months... soon to be year deployments... what helped me was one.. my son... and two... we talked alot, sent letters/emails, just hearing his voice helped me... get hobbies... a job... visit family and friends... just try and stay distracted. This was our first deployment together in aug 05... and we have been married for three years this 29th.... but it was a horrible way to seperate for the first time. But I joined a group on yahoo with other cop spouses... i hope that if you are about to be parted from one another... then enjoy every moment and every day with one another... don't let the little things get in the way.... just enjoy and be happy

I tend to talk to his and my family. Sometimes working and schooling seems to help me get my mind off of it a little more. But I know that one could never really erase that worry which nags you no matter how far away you place it. Just try to find activities that you like but arent really all that time consuming. Talking to someone that is in your same shoes might also help.
