Okay, I was supposed to start my period 3 days ago but haven't yet. I thought I would start today since I noticed some light pink when I wiped after using the restroom yesterday. But nothing.. then today around noon I noticed only when I wipe, that there is a light brown discharge. I've heard of implantation bleeding before.. could this be that? I've tested and the results are negative. I don't have any cramps and no signs that my real period is going to show up?? Has anyone else had this happen and if so, what was the outcome?

OK, are you "regular" when it comes to your periods? And if so, exactly how regular. It is possible that you are just starting late, b/c that sounds like the discharge you get before you start your period. But, if you can set a clock by your period (or close enough) I would suggest making an appt with your dr to get a test done. Either way I would make an appt just to be sure. Home pregnancy tests arent always the best, so check with your dr. And good luck with however it goes!!!

It sounds like implantation bleeding. Your pregnancy hormones can be really low and not detectable yet by a home pregnancy test. If still no period test again...if negative consult a physician.

I had implantation bleeding but my test came out positive the next day...some people can take awhile to get more hormone. Also you might try testing in with your morning urine.

First question, are you sexually active? Are you on birth control and/or practicing safe sex. If you feel you might be pregnant you might want to wait 2 weeks before testing. Sometimes menstruation goes wacky and can be off for a few days or scant bleeding occurs. Depending on how long you've been menstruating this could be an off month. If you are worried set up an appointment with your gynecologist and ask what they think, they may run a blood test and ultrasound to see what's causing this. Cysts on your ovaries can also cause problems with menstruation. Good luck.

It's happened several times and usually my period shows up late. It happened once and I was pregnant with my first son. IF you still havent started in 3-4 days retest. Early in pregnancy your hpg hormone can be so low that a urine test doesn't register correctly , however the hormone level doubles every 3 days so if you are pregnant the level should be high enough in 3-4 more days to get a valid result.

You could possibly be pregnant. But, being that you've missed your period but tested negative, I'm not sure. But, you should get a blood test to be sure. Most home pregnancy tests are sensitive enough to detect HCG as soon as you miss your period. Give it a couple days and retest. Being that you had light pink blood and then brown blood, sounds like implantation to me. Good luck.

Wait another two days and retest. Sometimes you will get a false negative until after your period due date has gone over by a week. If still negative, make an appointment with your doctor.

I had a friend who had a problem like that, what was wrong with her was she had backed up period discharge. It turns brown after so long. You could also still be pregnant. If it doesnt claer up in a few days you should go see the doc. It could have an underlying problem.

Actually sexually transmitted diseases such as clamydia can cause the same thing to happen. I'd see a doctor soon because it can acutally cause scarring which could cause you to never get pregnant even when you want too.....

The same exact thing happened to a really close friend of mine who slept w/ 1 guy and got it, so don't feel too bad if it turns out to be that, they have medicine for it and it goes away!

I had light pink, and I convinced myself it was a real period. I was so, so pregnant. You can have a "false negative" reading on a home pregnancy test (meaning, it says no, but you are), but you cannot have a "false positive". Retest, or go see your doctor.

You could just be spotting. Wait a few more days and then take a test. It could all be from stress too, especially if you are not trying to get pregnant.
