If you are asking this question, the time is now. I assume you are going to either buy a book, or take a class. I took the Kaplan SAT Review Class, and it helped me. I ended up scoring a 1450 on the old SAT, and a 2250 (Scored a perfect on the essay). They give you a book that you can work through, and they give you practice tests. Other than that, just hit the math hard. The English part is harder to study. Those are my tips, but not everyone is the same. Good luck, Score High, and remember... No matter how many times you take the test... the highest score on each section is the one that counts!

Oh yeah, in my opinion... Latin will not help you because the analogies have been deleted from the test. That was really the only part of the test that Latin could have helped in.

Definitely start a year before you take the SAT. Tutors are an excellent idea to help you study for the dreadful exam. Other ideas include reading a lot of books that are of a higher level than you normally read and learning vocabulary words from anywhere possible.

each and every man or woman is affirming freshman in highschool and now i'm scared. it is what i'm. the purely genuine SAT prep I had replaced into I took the try in eighth and ninth grade for prepare because I were given chosen or although. i imagine it relies upon on your reading form. for a classic try, some human beings study weeks in strengthen. those human beings ought to study years earlier than time for the SAT. some human beings, like me, study for checks the evening beforehand (a pair days beforehand for midterms and finals), yet it is what works for me. So for me i ought to probable commence reading about a month beforehand. The SATs arent that onerous, and for the mathematics you gained't even understand a number of the failings once you're a freshman if you're in geometry, and that i imagine that is sweet to study them in college beforehand reading them on your own.

To ensure success, I would tell student to first take the psat and then begin studying the end of your Sophmore year to the beginning middle of you Junior year. Begin with studying 1 hour per week and increase to about 2 hours per day (EVERYDAY) untill you take the test.

Shoot for over 1300 and you should be able to pick the college of your choice

i started in the 7th grade. which was rediculous but still.. most people i know started studying summer going into their jr. year. some don't study at all. my only advice is just study what you don't know. i spent my whole time studying for math (which i did really well on) then i only averaged about 500 for each of the english sections. i'm taking them again this year and cramming for writing.

Go to Borders (or your local Bookstore) and start looking at the prep books. Are you in HS? If so, it's NEVER to early to start preparing.

*so glad some young people take the time to really think about their future*

Good luck, even though I don't think you'll need it.

Never. I never once studied for it, and got a 1500 on my first try. I guess that is good, but I don't care really. The SAT is a racially biased, worthless test.
