I am doing research about high attrition rates in companies. Therefore I am looking for current theories and academic articles about job hopping or inter firm mobility. Thanks a lot for your help!!

Just my thought... but some people job hop as a way to figure out what they may or may not want to do with their lives. If they are smart during the process it will be very beneficial for them in the long run, experience is the best teacher but the most expensive education.
Also, the companies may want to look at their policies and employee treatment if their rates are higher than average. Many times employees leave simply because the work environment is so harsh and opposed to having any sort of life outside of work that they have to choose between work and family. Ultimately, family usually wins.

Hang out around a temp agency or an employment center. You will have lots of people to talk to that job hop all the time.
