Maybe your son should be punished for not respecting himself or this girl. He deserves what he gets, hopefully it will be a lesson as next he will wind up with AIDS, or a child he will abandon. Serves the child you call your son right if you ask me, which you technically did.

Its a common misconception that public defenders aren't very good. While it is true that public defenders are horribly overworked and dreadfully underpaid, many of them are very, very fine attorneys. However, in any case, any attorney will only be able to help your son as much as he can help himself.
I won't review the obvious problems of your letter: (misspellings (that's why there is spell check), grammar and other problems.
It seems to be a common perception as well that attorneys (1) all give time pro-bono (while many do, in most states there is no requirement (2) everyone is entitled to a free lawyer, even when a public defender is available, just by claiming the public defender is not very good. (again, untrue)
A lawyer to spends too much of his/her time accepting every pro bono criminal case that comes in the door will soon be forced to close his/her doors. Running any private law firm, of whatever size, requires, (gasp) paying clients. Those clients don't grow on trees. These are people who feel that the attorney's time and expertise are worth the money that they pay.
Your son is charged with having sexual relations with a minor, who allegedly told him that she was older than she was. Unfortunately, in most states, that's not much of a defense. In any event, depending on what stage of the proceedings he is at, there are between 10 to 50 billable hours of attorney time here, at a price range of $150 to $250 (or more) per hour. ($1500 at LEAST, more likely at least $7,500 or more).
It would probably be in your son's best interest to quit undermining his public defender and activately assisting the public defender in his defense. Make an appointment with the PD, and ask how you can assist. Ask what they are doing, and why. If you don't understand the answer, make them explain until you do. Then, consult with your son and his public defender on the plan of defense.
The alternative: be prepared for a retainer of at least $10,000.

From your email, I have gathered the following information:
1. You are ignorant. ( Better start reading the dictionary, if you can even read. )
2. You have not raised a son with the proper morals and respect for other people or for the laws of the land.
3. You are a freeloader, looking for a free ride from a pro bono attorney.
4. You have semi-raised a young man who is already a pedophile/child molester. Who deserves exactly what he's going to get; both from the justice system; AND the rest of the prison population.
5. IF you can get a Public Defender to even take your sorry case; you'd better thank him profusely...because it sounds like Sonny's headed to the Big House right where he belongs.

I'm very sorry about your situation. I think your best option is to go with a public defender. If the lawyer doesn't do his or her job accordingly, you can always demand another one. It's a tough situation, one that happens more frequently then you would imagine. There is no easy fix for this. I wish you luck and hope that the situation resolves itself in the best way for all involved.

Learn to write. If one reads what you said, it seems the Public Defender had sex with a minor.
"and we dont have no money"
add, "and we dont have no education"
add "and we cant make no payment on the trailer"
What was his age? What was hers? For all we know, he was 18 and she was 12.
