Avg free edition

I would also recommend using Lavasoft Ad-ware to remove spyware:

I would say AVG Free Antivirus.
You can get it here at http://free.grisoft.com
But even the best virus removers will not be effective if you don't update your virus definitions...

avast, it gives you free virus protection with no gimicks,, but you have to download the trial then wait either 60 or 30 days and request for a registration key and then you put it in and you get free virus protection, only for home use, not commercial or private use

Well, my personal programmer/technician told me:
AVG is the best free one, it usually finds viruses others don't.
McAfee is a good one, but not usually free, unless you can find it on one of those free download sites every now and then.
I have included a link for the AVG.

If your Internet provider offers it for free go with the macafee system it updates itself as needed and automatically downloads those updates every time you log onto the Internet.Check with them and take it if it's offered though I think that the service is only free for one year and then you have to pay for it every year I think macafee is around $70.00-$80.00 bucks a year. for the virus scan, the personal firewall, the privacy service and the spam killer.

Don't go with one of those "free" virus removers.Go with Norton it's not free but it don't cost to much.
